The sun’s about to set, Hank Williams is playing on the stereo, and we’re about to serve our first ice cold margarita. After six years spent dreaming it up in Pioneertown, our beloved Red Dog Saloon is now open for business.
That’s right, your favorite desert hideaway now has a lobby bar, and it’s been here since the very beginning. Established in 1946, the Red Dog Saloon was a mainstay in a handful of notable Western films, quickly becoming the go-to watering hole for the stars who created it. Rumor has it Roy Rogers and Trigger used to frequent the bar, and we mean Trigger was inside the saloon.
We’re big on tradition here in Pioneertown, so for the past several years we studied our roots, from the motel to the Red Dog Saloon in all its enduring glory. We collected tall tales and rare old photos, making it our mission to celebrate its rich history, honor our local community, and design an offering that’s as unique as Pioneertown itself.
With an eye for the past and our feet pointed firmly towards the horizon, we’ll be offering a wide array of spirits — think strong whiskies and refreshing agaves — in addition to fresh cocktails on draft, savory wagyu beef tacos, and the boldest queso in town. We’ve built an incredible family here in Pioneertown and feel honored to be working alongside our best friends and the most talented people we know.
